OUR HISTORY
Isaac.JPG

1993 - Lingua Franca Publishers was established in 1993 by Isaac Saki Shabangu, in Giyani. From 1993 up to 2006, Lingua Franca focused its publishing endeavours on producing Learning and Teaching Support Material (LTSM) for the Languages Learning Area, particularly for the indigenous languages Sepedi, IsiZulu, Tshivenda and Xitsonga. Since then, Lingua Franca has built a literature list with titles in all these languages across all the literary genres. Lingua Franca has achieved a national prescription with some of our literature titles, notably the English drama Madiba, the folk heroThe turn of the tide, which was prescribed in 2007 for Grade 11 learners of English as a First Additional Language.
